While Baby Talking Tattletail doesn't directly harm the player, it is prone to generating a lot of noise, which alerts Mama Tattletail to the player's location (probably why he is called 'Tattletail'). While completing a set task, the player must avoid Mama by staying quiet when she is near (indicated by her mechanical grinding noises). Failure to do so will result in Mama attacking the player in a jumpscare, ending the game. The Player acquires a shake flashlight to navigate the house, but Mama Tattletail kills the player's flashlight when she starts patrolling, and whenever they look directly at her. Baby Talking Tattletail is afraid of the dark (and is quite vocal about it), creating a necessity to replenish the flashlight by shaking it quickly. However, the flashlight creates noise when shook, so the player must be careful about when and where they shake. The player is advised to move away from Mama before shaking the flashlight.

Over the course of the game, a series of ' Gift Eggs', presumably laid by the Tattletail toy line, are placed throughout the house. Collecting all 22 of the eggs will result in the player achieving the 'good' ending of the game. There is also a second campaign called the Kaleidoscope Campaign, in which the Protagonist's memories of Tattletail have been tampered with, and they must find the cause of all of their false memories. The game was published under the name of the in-universe fictional toy company Waygetter Electronics.Tattletail™ Release Trailer Official Trivia Throughout the campaign, the player follows a series of notes (presumably by a Waygetter Electronics employee) while trying to uncover the mysteries behind The Kaleidoscope, a dangerous place where all memories are stored.

Tattletail has received some criticism for its surface resemblance to the Five Nights at Freddy's series for featuring similar gameplay elements, but critics generally agree that the gameplay, which allows for free roaming, is distinctive.Tattletail is a heavy reference to the real-life electronic toy Furby, seemingly more specifically the Funky Furby.In reality, the team was led by game designer Ben Esposito, and designer/co-designer Geneva Hodgson (who also voices Mama Tattletail and the phone operator on the last night), along with lead programmer Tom Astle and cartoonist Ryann Shannon (who also voices Baby Talking Tattletail).

Throwing it out here because maybe someone else can work with that idea. I had another idea where Mama was rebooted as a combo Mama/Newborn Tattletail in the vein of Penbo, but then it fizzled out. Maybe you even need to survive and look for clues, because your nice new Mama Tattletail keeps interfering while hunting you down. Gradually, as you survive each night, you dig up reports and info on what originally happened that Mama was recalled and banned.

You could be playing as a vintage toy collector, who has been seeking a Mama Tattletail for years. She's terrifying but intriguing and I want to know more about her, and how they ended up screwing her up.ĮDIT: One little thing I wanna add as a possibility of uncovering more about Mama: That could probably be dealt with in some form of dlc/expansion too, if a sequel isn't meant to be. Like, just finding snippets of news and reports about her somewhere would be great. I'd like some way to expand upon what the heck is going on with Mama - when she was originally released, what the plans for her were, and the events behind her recall (and how long she was released before she was canned).
